As a part of [[How to Take Smart Notes]] --- These are never thrown away or discarded, and represent a lasting, more thought-out version of a [[Fleeting Note]]. These typically contain context of a topic, and are meant to be referenced and noted among multiple contexts. They’re standardized to remove the decision of how to represent it or where to put it. Memorializing all ideas as a permanent note however is bad, as it clutters the space and doesn’t give way to achieving the right signal/noise ratio. Context is only useful if it can be found and connected to other information. An endless amount of context collected through everything you find is counterproductive to this. This type of note requires all context to vanish from the idea, and should be the atomic, raw idea expressed in the note.
